In 2004, the Barbican Art Gallery in London showed ‘Communicate: British Independent Graphic Design since the Sixties’, curated by Rick Poynor. We not only had the honour of exhibiting some of our work there, but were also commissioned to create an installation piece for it. The result was ‘ManMachineMachineManMaaaaaaaachine World’, which allowed multiple users to connect to one canvas and create images using motion, sound (we had an African thumbpiano installed next to the mouse) and hand- writing recognition (as first developed for the BMW Car Parc 1 piece). It has since travelled to Beijing and Shanghai and Switzerland.
